Jeremy Hirschberg, Senior Consultant

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Jeremy is a seasoned coach, consultant, and executive leader with advising specialties concentrated in organizational performance and development. Jeremy leverages a foundation of business and psychology to assess, design and deliver services that impact individual, team and organizational performance. From Start-Ups to Fortune 500 companies, Jeremy partners with leaders to create and align leadership strategy with business strategy.  

Background & INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Jeremy leverages almost 20 years of assessment, coaching and consulting experience to select, develop and advise leaders and organizations. Most recently, Jeremy was the Chief Operating Officer for two marketing agencies where he built and oversaw Operations, Human Resources, Sales, Finance, and Legal. During his time as COO, Jeremy grew the organization from 15 to 65 plus employees with 5 locations, including opening an international office in Tel Aviv, Israel and Rincon, Puerto Rico. Prior to his COO experience, Jeremy spent his career designing and delivering leadership and executive development programs across organizational levels. As Regional Director and Senior Faculty at the Center for Creative Leadership, Jeremy designed and facilitated custom programs for Tervita, Fisher Investments, PIMCO, San Diego Gas and Electric, The Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and Apollo Group. Prior to joining CCL, Jeremy was the Defense Market lead for leadership development with Booz Allen Hamilton where he developed and delivered customized leadership programs to Department of Defense SES, a Veteran Affairs sponsored 14 Agency crossing boundaries SES program, an accelerated leadership program for the IRS, and an influence and presence workshop for the President’s Management Advisory Board. Additionally, he also provided consulting, coaching and facilitation to numerous agencies including the Defense Intelligence Agency, Army, Navy, CIA, FBI, and VA. 

As a seasoned assessor, Jeremy has worked with numerous organizations to select and develop key talent. He provided executive assessments at the VP level and above to Steel Dynamics, SHURE, PSEG, Deltak, MITRE, Rasmussen, ATK, ComEd, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Exelon, The Federal Reserve, and The National Council on Crime and Delinquency. Jeremy also worked on several acquisition projects where he assessed the leadership of the acquired organization to determine fit. Additionally, Jeremy has over 600 hours of executive and team coaching experience. He has also coached government GS15 and SES leaders in transitioning from Government to private sector roles.

Jeremy applies his background in psychological theory and principles to work with individuals to address their specific business challenges. He enjoys working with leaders and teams who are struggling with the complexity across the business, the dynamics of the team or preparing for growth and needed transformation. Working with leaders who are passionate about their work and the success of the business, Jeremy focuses on developing greater self-awareness and emotional intelligence and understanding the dynamics that exist within the organization to create new perspectives that will challenge assumptions, generate new opportunities to thrive and maximizing potential.

Grounded in psychological theory and principles, Jeremy takes a practical approach to facilitation and teambuilding. Focusing initial team efforts on effectiveness and efficiency by introducing principles of meeting effectiveness, setting goals and decision making. As teams develop, Jeremy challenges individual and team perspectives with a focus on build greater trust, creating a sense of shared ownership and understanding and accepting tensions to be managed across the business.

  • Assessment for Selection: Jeremy has assessed leaders across industries in the private sector. Recent examples include a comprehensive assessment for CEO succession for a National Non-Profit. Assessed VPs for SVP role of top tier Steel manufacturer. 
  • Assessment/Development Centers: Served as an assessor in customized assessment and development centers. Assessed frontline supervisors for selection and development for a Fortune 500 Energy company. 
  • 360 Feedback and multi-assessment feedback: Facilitates 360 and multi-assessment feedback sessions with leaders from frontline supervisors to Corporate Officers.

RELEVANT COACHING ASSIGNMENTS

  • Executive Coaching: Over 600 hours of executive coaching, including executive integration (on-boarding) coaching, with leaders across private and public sector organizations.
  • Start-Up CEO of an Apparel Company Focus: Executive Presence, assertiveness, and developing leadership culture. 
  • SES leader with a technical background in a US Government Intelligence Agency. Focus: Developing and communicating clear expectations and effectively delivering feedback.
  • SVP of Risk Management for Global Asset Management Firm Focus: Increased self-awareness, influence and emotional intelligence.  
  • Start-Up CEO of HealthTech platform Focus: Developing strategy for scaling the business.
  • Team Coaching: Works with leadership and executive teams, ranging from supporting new team formation to supporting mature teams in becoming more effective. Focus includes meeting effectiveness, creating clear expectations, accountability, trust, strategy and transformation. 

RELEVANT FACILITATIon & TEAMBUILDING ASSIGNMENTS

  • Executive Team Coaching: Provide team coaching for executive team of newly funded Start-Up. Coaching focused on preparing for rapid growth and scalability.
  • Executive Design and Leadership Development Program: Designed, developed, facilitated, and evaluated leadership programs for 1K+ senior executives and high-potential leaders across 14 federal government agencies including Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, IRS, President’s Management Advisory Board, and U.S. Navy. 
  • High Potential Action Learning Team Design: Designed and facilitated 6-month action learning project to address organization-wide challenges (ex. FMLA abuse) at a Fortune 500 Energy company. The design included delivery of individual and team coaching and group facilitation.  
  • Experiential Design for Executive Development: Designed and implemented an experiential executive program to provide participants with a framework for influencing and persuading stakeholders across the organization. A variety of learning media were leveraged including webinar, presentation, experiential activities, observation and feedback. 
  • Executive Team Facilitation: Designed and facilitated executive team meetings to discuss succession planning, leadership development and legacy. Assisted the group in designing a succession planning process, establishing clear expectations, and roles.
