Sheldon Frank, Senior Consultant

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A seasoned, professionally certified business coach with a special interest in Organizational systems, Sheldon works with senior leaders to create the change required to take an organization’s business to the next level.

Throughout his 30-year business career, Sheldon has contributed to the growth of numerous businesses by working in sales and business development roles. These valuable experiences have allowed him to flourish in his professional coaching career where he engages with companies that need help in unlocking the potential that exists within their organizations. Sheldon is an expert in change at an individual and organizational level. His well-developed coaching model facilitates growth by balancing intrapersonal and interpersonal dynamics with strategic imperatives of the organization.

Background & Industry Experience

Sheldon began his business career in sales. He was an unlikely candidate because, as an introvert, it would never have been his occupation of choice. However, he spent the next 20 years learning, growing, and progressing through leadership positions in both corporate and start up environments. A successful exit from his own business through a successful listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange gave him the space to complete a postgraduate degree in Coaching at the South African College of Applied Psychology.

His breadth of knowledge and expertise gives Sheldon the ability to offer a powerful thinking environment for his clients. The diversity in business environments, from startups to corporates and family-owned businesses, allows him to be flexible and mindful of the unique challenges specific to each client organization.

Sheldon is a credentialed Professional coach with the International Coaching Federation and has over 2500 hours of Coaching experience with individuals and groups. He is certified in Organizational Relationship systems coaching methodologies and the Workplace Big Five Profile™ as well as the Integrative Enneagram personality assessments which aids in both personal and organizational change.

Extensive experience across various business roles has honed Sheldon’s ability to ask the right questions—questions born out of practical knowledge, strategic insight, and a nuanced understanding of the challenges inherent in diverse business environments. These questions are not just inquiries; they are strategic probes designed to unearth latent opportunities, challenge assumptions, and guide teams toward innovative solutions.

Sheldon is skilled at fostering a collaborative environment where strategic inquiry becomes the catalyst for change. Whether navigating the nuances of internal dynamics or guiding entrepreneurs through market access strategies, the ability to ask incisive questions becomes the compass that charts the course toward sustainable growth.

Coaching Approach

Sheldon works with individuals and teams. His approach begins with the end in mind and incorporates a process to clarify exactly what the desired outcome is, often including a measurable return on investment. The journey (coaching process) is co-created between the coach and the client and operates with a unique framework allowing for maximum potential and benefits. Continuous check-ins with stakeholders make sure that the process is continuously progressing toward the contracted outcome.

His agile approach caters for periodic re-contracting sessions to accommodate the unpredictability that always exists in the coaching process and to create alignment. He works with individuals on all aspects of what it means to be emotional beings working in complex environments, and he appreciates how the power of the team is realized through emotionally intelligent leadership. By taking a systems thinking approach, Sheldon creates a comprehensive framework for personal and team development, addressing not only the symptoms but the root causes of challenges.

Sheldon’s coaching work frequently involves working in large and small organizations, including family businesses. He enjoys experiencing business growth through working in the front offices of businesses. Sheldon also enjoys the challenge and layers of complexity that family relationships bring to the business, which can be a definite advantage if dealt with correctly.
